Outdoor concrete that survives Michigan weather

Patio & Pool Deck Coatings

Michigan patios and pool decks get hammered by UV in summer and freeze-thaw cycles all winter. Cheap outdoor paints yellow, chalk, and peel within a season. Killen Epoxy uses UV-stable polyaspartic outdoor coatings that will not yellow or fade, with a built-in micro-textured anti-slip aggregate that stays comfortable and safe for bare wet feet. The result is a durable, easy-clean outdoor surface that protects your concrete from spalling and cracking.

Common Applications

Concrete patios and lanais
Pool decks and surrounding concrete
Front porches and entry stoops
Walkways, steps, and outdoor entertaining areas

Preparation

Outdoor concrete is ground with diamond tooling to remove weathered surface material, old sealer, and efflorescence. We repair cracks and any spalled edges, then profile the slab so the UV-stable coating bonds mechanically rather than relying on a thin surface film.

Installation

We apply a UV-stable base coat, broadcast a decorative flake or silica blend for texture and slip resistance, and seal with a UV-stable polyaspartic top coat. The texture is tuned to be slip-resistant when wet without being rough on bare feet.

Patio & Pool Deck Coatings FAQ

Lighter flake colors reflect heat and stay comfortable compared to dark bare concrete. We help you select a UV-stable blend that balances looks and surface temperature.
