Clear the space completely
The most important step before installation is removing everything from the floor. Vehicles, storage bins, tools, appliances, and furniture all need to be out of the area so the crew can access the entire slab.
Plan ahead for where items will live during the project. Coating systems need time to cure, so the space may be off-limits for a day or more depending on the system and conditions.
Address access and temperature
Make sure the crew can get equipment to the floor — open garage doors, clear walkways, and remove trip hazards. For basements, confirm stairway access is clear.
Temperature and humidity affect cure time. We will advise on ideal conditions for your specific coating system, but keeping the space within a comfortable temperature range helps the project go smoothly.
Note existing damage and concerns
Before installation, point out any cracks, pits, moisture issues, or existing coatings you are aware of. We assess the floor during the estimate, but your input helps us prepare the right repair plan.
If you have had flooding, persistent dampness, or a previous failed coating, mention it so we can factor it into the assessment.
Follow the cure and care plan
After installation, follow the return-to-service and care guidance we provide. Keeping foot and vehicle traffic off the floor until it is fully cured protects the finish.
